Barça Slithers into Snakeskin. Finally, a Kit That Suits the Club

FC Barcelona have unveiled their away kit for the 2026/27 season. According to AS, the shirt was created by Nike as part of its Kobe Bryant line and combines black, purple and gold accents. The entire design is covered in a snakeskin-style pattern. It is difficult to imagine more natural camouflage for a club capable of changing its story before the press conference has even ended.

The Kobe logo appears on the chest, while the Barcelona crest features an iridescent finish. Inside the collar are Bryant’s words: “Leave the game better than you found it.” In Catalonia, that is a rather brave slogan. Especially after all the financial levers, court cases and transfers announced weeks before anyone had worked out how to pay for them.

The design is inspired by Bryant’s “Black Mamba” nickname, with a similar theme also used for the goalkeeper kit. From a marketing perspective, everything looks perfect: an NBA legend, a predatory image and an exclusive finish. Now only one small detail remains — Barça need to look just as good on the pitch as they do at the launch of yet another new shirt.
