PSG missed out on Diomande. Barça could lose ferran
Real Madrid are reportedly set to snatch Yan Diomande from under PSG’s nose, so Paris may look for some quick consolation in Barcelona. According to Lluís Miguelsanz of “Sport”, the French club want to accelerate talks with Ferran Torres and agree personal terms in the coming days. Diomande and Ferran are completely different profiles, but after losing a deal to Madrid, urgency appears to be the only profile that matters.
PSG are expected to make room in attack by moving on Randal Kolo Muani and Bradley Barcola. Miguelsanz claims an offer of around €40 million could arrive for Ferran, along with a salary higher than the one he currently earns at Barça. Barcelona paid Manchester City roughly €55 million plus add-ons for him, so the club could present the sale as a loss, a success and part of the master plan at the same time.
Ferran was recently considered a candidate to stay, but when Paris arrives with money, an “important player” can quickly become a “strategic sale”. If the transfer happens, Barcelona will probably insist everything was under control from the beginning — even though the entire chain reaction started with Real Madrid signing a completely different player.
