Adeyemi Isn’T Afraid of Yamal
Karim Adeyemi is still getting to know the Barcelona dressing room, but he certainly isn’t short of confidence. Asked by Mundo Deportivo about competing with Lamine Yamal, he gave a clear answer: “I’m not afraid of any player. If I give my best, I’ll have opportunities to play.” Lamine has not even returned to training yet, and the media have already prepared the first showdown of the new season.
The German does have something to back up his confidence. He has reached a top speed of 36.65 km/h, played in a Champions League final with Borussia Dortmund and can operate on either wing or through the middle. Adeyemi also admits that winning the Champions League remains his biggest dream. Barcelona will gladly take that dream, add a few training photos and announce Europe’s most dangerous pair of wingers before August is over.
For now, Adeyemi is training mainly with the players who did not take part in the World Cup, while Yamal and most of Barça’s internationals will return later. It is always slightly easier to make a fearless declaration before the main character enters the dressing room. After that, only one minor detail will remain: proving it on the pitch.
