Ferran wants to win the Champions League. So he’s choosing PSG
Ferran Torres has apparently decided that if he genuinely wants to win the Champions League, he cannot wait for Barcelona to find the money first. According to Santi Aouna, the forward wants to join PSG and has already informed his teammates of his decision. Talks between the two clubs are expected to begin next week.
Matteo Moretto is slightly more cautious, but confirms that Ferran feels undervalued at Barcelona. The club reportedly wants to extend his contract—just not yet, because doing so would trigger an €8 million payment to Manchester City. Barça do have a plan, of course. It begins in September, ends with Financial Fair Play and somehow gives the player enough time to choose Paris in between.
Fabrizio Romano adds that PSG remain in direct contact with the 26-year-old’s camp. Barcelona do not want to sell him unless he personally asks to leave. Ferran now appears to be heading in that direction. After all, he can spend another summer hearing about projects, patience and registrations—or try to win the Champions League somewhere that does not need to sell the office furniture before completing a transfer.
