Araújo, Raphinha and fermín are back. Barça declare the problems over
Barcelona have returned from their training camp in England with news that almost sounds like a transfer announcement: Ronald Araújo, Raphinha and Fermín López have recovered from their respective fitness problems. According to Sergi de Juan of “AS”, all three were able to work without restrictions, leaving Hansi Flick delighted with the week at St George’s Park. At Barcelona, however, good news rarely remains just good news. Within a few hours, it usually becomes proof that the entire project is working perfectly.
Araújo’s condition will naturally attract the most attention. The Uruguayan gives Flick pace, strength and aggression in defence, but lately his biggest opponent has been the struggle to play consistently. Receiving medical clearance is an important step, although competitive matches will decide how long that green light stays on. Barça can breathe more easily for now — preferably without making any sudden movements.
The returns of Raphinha and Fermín also give Flick more options in attack and midfield. Both are expected to train normally, although being injury-free does not automatically mean being ready for 90 minutes at full intensity. Flick has three important players back, while the club has recovered its favourite source of summer energy: optimism produced before the first serious match has even begun.
“AS” reports that Flick considers the England camp one of the best preseason experiences of his coaching career. Barça therefore return to Catalonia healthier, calmer and convinced that everything is moving in the right direction. There is only one small detail left: proving it on the pitch, where medical updates are not worth any points.
