Freixa is already celebrating rodri. He doesn’t know if Barça need him, but at least Madrid got rejected

Toni Freixa does not know whether Barcelona actually need Rodri. He is not sure what condition the midfielder will be in after his recent injury problems either. What he does know is that choosing Barça over Real Madrid deserves a standing ovation. The former club executive wrote on X that Rodri had “given the most arrogant club in the world and its media lackeys the finger”.

Freixa initially announced that he did not give a damn about transfer sagas, Flick’s phone calls, players’ declarations or “whether someone’s grandmother smokes”. Minutes later, he produced several episodes of his own: mocking the signing of Yan Diomandé, comparing Flick with Mourinho and arranging Rodri’s Camp Nou reception before the transfer is even official. He is not following the saga. He is simply writing the script.

The two-time Barcelona presidential candidate has decided that football questions can wait. Rodri has not played a single minute for the club, but he has already passed the most important test: he annoyed Madrid. At Barcelona, that can be enough to become a legend before signing the contract.
