Racing Reject €14m for Salinas — Barça Have Been Given the Price

Racing Santander have confirmed that a €14 million offer for Jorge Salinas has already been rejected. Sporting director Chema Aragón insists the 19-year-old defender will only leave if his €16 million release clause is paid in full. Barcelona are among the clubs interested in the player. 

The gap is hardly enormous, but Racing have no intention of negotiating it away. Aragón openly revealed that €14m has already been put on the table and turned down, while stressing that Salinas remains fully focused and continues to train normally with the squad. 

If Barça really want him, this is one transfer where the instructions are unusually clear. The number is written into the contract, Racing have repeated it publicly, and there appears to be no discount available. Waiting for the asking price to magically shrink probably won’t do much this time.
