Ferran close to PSG as Barça aim to seal the deal before the weekend

Ferran Torres is now very close to leaving Barcelona. SER Catalunya reported at 13:20 CEST that the deal with Paris Saint-Germain could be completed today or tomorrow. The forward already has an agreement with PSG and is ready to travel to Paris for his medical.

This moves the story beyond the earlier reports about PSG interest and Barça allowing Ferran to stay away from training. He also missed Thursday’s session, while negotiations between the clubs have entered the final stage. SER puts the expected transfer fee at around €55 million.

Not long ago Barcelona were presenting Ferran as an important part of Flick’s squad. Now the combination of a decent offer and the need to finance other business appears to have changed the definition of “important” rather quickly. At this point, the medical looks closer than another Barça training session.
