Ferran torres deal agreed — Barça and PSG settle on just under €50m
Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for Ferran Torres. Mundo Deportivo reported at 20:31 CEST that the transfer will be worth just under €50 million, all guaranteed and with no add-ons. Cadena SER also reports an agreement around the €50m mark. The paperwork and medical are now the remaining steps.
This is a clear move beyond the earlier stage, when PSG had an agreement with the player but the clubs were still negotiating. Ferran is now expected to join PSG on a five-year deal once the formalities are completed.
There is also a useful financial detail for Barça. Mundo Deportivo reports that selling now means Barcelona avoid an additional €8m payment to Manchester City that would have been triggered if Ferran had renewed. A player who was recently part of the sporting plan is now part of the financing plan instead. At Barcelona, those two categories can apparently change very quickly.
