If Lautaro falls through: Gyökeres or Tresoldi for €40–50m
Barcelona is going for Lautaro Martínez. If Inter will not sell their captain, the club has two names in reserve: Viktor Gyökeres and Nicolò Tresoldi.
That is the version El Desmarque published on Thursday morning, based on El Partidazo de COPE. Víctor Navarro says that after the Julián Álvarez deal collapsed, the club settled on Lautaro as the consensus target. He is now the number-one option. The same report adds that getting him out of Milan is “very complicated or almost impossible”. Barcelona still intends to try.
If that fails, two other leads come back.
The first is Gyökeres. Navarro says the Swede would be “delighted” to join Barcelona and wants to leave Arsenal. Arsenal are looking for a striker, so in this account the door is not shut. COPE does not put a fee on Gyökeres.
The second lead is cheaper and quieter. Nicolò Tresoldi of Club Brugge has been watched by Barcelona all year. The reports are said to be good. Navarro’s figure is €40–50 million. That is not the priority now. It is parked. For the moment the club is going after Lautaro.
This is not an offer. Not to Inter, not to Arsenal, not to Club Brugge. It is a reserve list from one radio programme, repeated by El Desmarque.
The pattern is simple and familiar. Álvarez is off the table because Atlético Madrid will not sell. Lautaro is the new priority, even though Inter call their captain unsellable. Gyökeres and Tresoldi sit on the shelf if that operation stalls too.
There are a couple of weeks left in the window. After the Joan Gamper Trophy, Deco said Barcelona would make a move in attack. They have not yet made an offer that would change the status of any of these three names.
