Camavinga: Saturday deadline reported, United plan €50m bid
Manchester United reportedly plan a €50m Camavinga bid. Madrid want a decision by Saturday, according to reports, but the midfielder favours staying.
Manchester United are reportedly preparing €50 million for Eduardo Camavinga. Camavinga, meanwhile, still appears to prefer Real Madrid. Transfer coverage can have a player halfway to the airport before he has agreed to leave the house.
According to Bernabéu Digital, Madrid want his future settled by Saturday, August 29, leaving time to recruit a replacement. Without an agreement, keeping him would become the priority. This is a media report, not an officially announced club deadline.
The clearest report about United’s proposed offer comes from Pacojó Delgado on “El Larguero”. He reported that the English club are preparing a €50 million bid for the closing stages of the window. Cadena SER describes a planned approach, rather than confirming that Madrid have received a formal offer.
Bernabéu Digital puts Madrid’s asking price at €60 million. Those figures would leave a €10 million gap. A buyer running short of time is not necessarily entitled to a discount.
Camavinga’s own position could be the more awkward obstacle. According to Diario Madridista, the midfielder wants to remain at Madrid despite José Mourinho reportedly warning him during pre-season that he would have a secondary role. The outlet also reports that an earlier United approach met with a refusal from the Frenchman.
His contract is not about to expire. Camavinga signed an extension until 2029, as confirmed on Real Madrid’s official website. He can therefore decide that competing for his place is preferable to a move, even if Madrid are willing to listen to offers.
Chelsea are also mentioned as a potential destination. Diario Madridista links their possible approach to Enzo Fernández potentially joining Manchester City. That is another conditional scenario, not a completed transfer.
United would therefore need to persuade more than the selling club. For now, choosing a date in the calendar looks considerably easier than securing everyone’s agreement. The player still has plans of his own.
