PSG on Tuesday, El Clásico on Sunday. Barcelona’s October test
Barcelona will visit PSG on 20 October before hosting Real Madrid five days later. See the demanding schedule facing Hansi Flick’s team.
UEFA have scheduled Barcelona’s away match against Paris Saint-Germain for Tuesday, 20 October. Five days later, Hansi Flick’s team are due to host Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou. That leaves four full days without a match before El Clásico. Reaching that recovery period will be the difficult part.
The demanding sequence is currently set to begin on Sunday, 18 October, when Barcelona travel to face Real Betis. Only two days later, they will play PSG at the Parc des Princes. The kick-off time in Seville has not yet been confirmed, meaning LaLiga’s eventual decision could make the turnaround even tighter.
Barcelona’s official schedule lists the sequence as follows:
- 18 October: Real Betis vs Barcelona
- 20 October, 21:00: PSG vs Barcelona
- 25 October: Barcelona vs Real Madrid
Flick may therefore have very little time between the final whistle against Betis and kick-off in Paris. Rotation in Seville appears likely, although PSG away is not exactly the ideal destination for protecting tired legs.
The preparation period immediately before El Clásico is more favourable. Barcelona will have Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday without a match after visiting Paris. Real Madrid play their third Champions League fixture one day later, hosting RB Leipzig on Wednesday, 21 October.
José Mourinho’s side will consequently have one fewer full recovery day before travelling to Barcelona. UEFA have not placed only Barça in a difficult position. Flick’s main problem comes between Betis and PSG, while Madrid face the shorter transition from Leipzig to El Clásico.
The meeting in Paris also carries its own significance. PSG won the clubs’ previous encounter 2-1 after scoring a late winner in October 2025. UEFA have confirmed that this season’s match will take place at the Parc des Princes.
The complete October run is even more demanding than those three fixtures suggest. Barcelona are scheduled to face Getafe, Galatasaray, Betis, PSG and Real Madrid within 15 days. Four clear days before El Clásico represent a reasonable finish to the sequence. The challenge will be arriving there without leaving too much energy in Istanbul, Seville and Paris.
The exact kick-off times for the league matches against Betis and Real Madrid remain unconfirmed. Barcelona vs Real Madrid is currently listed for Sunday, 25 October, at Spotify Camp Nou.
