Beşiktaş renew Casadó push as Leipzig ask Barcelona for terms
Beşiktaş are pushing to sign Marc Casadó, while RB Leipzig have asked Barcelona about the terms of a possible transfer.
Marc Casadó could still leave Barcelona before the transfer window closes. Beşiktaş are reportedly pushing to complete a deal, while RB Leipzig have already contacted Barça to ask about the conditions of a potential transfer. Interest is building, but one important detail remains missing: an offer Barcelona are prepared to accept.
According to reports attributed to “SPORT”, Beşiktaş have made a renewed attempt to sign Casadó. The Turkish club have been linked with the midfielder for some time and are now expected to accelerate their efforts as the deadline approaches. However, no specific fee or agreement with Barcelona has been reported.
The approach from RB Leipzig is more firmly documented. Fabrizio Romano reported that the Bundesliga club contacted Barcelona to learn the conditions required to sign the midfielder. Other Turkish clubs have also shown interest, although discussions have not yet developed into advanced negotiations.
Barcelona are prepared to consider Casadó’s departure. His contract runs until 30 June 2028, so the club are not being forced into a sale by his contractual situation. They do, however, have a crowded midfield and remain open to generating another significant transfer fee.
Hansi Flick can currently choose from Rodri, Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal, Fermín López and Dani Olmo in central areas. Casadó’s route to regular minutes has narrowed considerably. The queue for a place in midfield is currently longer than the queue of clubs willing to meet Barcelona’s reported asking price.
Figures between €30m and €40m have appeared in the media, but Barcelona have not publicly confirmed a valuation or the arrival of a bid at that level. Beşiktaş can push and Leipzig can ask questions. Until somebody attaches the right number to their interest, Casadó remains a first-team player.
It is a quick change in status for the academy graduate. Casadó made 36 appearances during the 2024/25 season, became an important player under Flick and earned his senior Spain debut. His role then declined, and Barcelona’s summer additions have created even more competition. He first worked his way from La Masia into the senior squad. He has now worked his way onto the list of players the club are willing to sell.
For Casadó, the decision is not simply whether to leave Barcelona. Beşiktaş could offer an important role and an atmosphere rarely associated with quiet evenings. Leipzig would allow him to remain in one of Europe’s leading leagues and join a club with a strong record of developing young players.
No transfer is currently close to completion. Reports attributed to “SPORT” describe Beşiktaş’s renewed push, while RB Leipzig’s approach was reported by Fabrizio Romano. Barcelona are waiting for a concrete proposal. Interest alone will neither reduce the squad nor increase the club’s transfer income.
