Bellingham named MVP against Málaga after goal and commanding display

Jude Bellingham was named the best player in Real Madrid’s 4–0 win over Málaga. The Englishman scored the opening goal, contributed to the move that produced Alfonso Herrero’s own goal and came close to scoring again before being replaced by Arda Güler in the 87th minute.

Bellingham broke the deadlock after 19 minutes. He collected the ball in midfield, beat three opponents and finished his solo run with a low shot beneath the goalkeeper. Seven minutes later, his blocked header caused the scramble that ended with Herrero putting the ball into his own net.

Bellingham against Málaga

Bellingham nearly completed a brace in the 55th minute. After receiving the ball from Vinícius Júnior, he struck the post with his left foot. Four minutes later, he created another opportunity for Kylian Mbappé, whose close-range header was saved by Herrero.

The midfielder has registered two goals and two assists across the opening three league matches. He scored against Espanyol, provided two assists against Real Sociedad and opened the scoring against Málaga.

Those four goal contributions have arrived in 245 minutes, an average of one every 61 minutes. Madrid have won all three matches and moved to the top of the LaLiga table with nine points.

Mourinho has used Bellingham directly behind Mbappé and allowed him to attack the penalty area. The early results are clear. Bellingham is creating opportunities, finishing moves and influencing matches without wasting possession. Against Málaga, the Player of the Match award was a straightforward decision.
