El Clásico date confirmed as Barcelona host Real Madrid on 25 October
Barcelona will host Real Madrid on 25 October 2026 at 9:00 pm. Check the confirmed date and kick-off time for the season’s first El Clásico.
LaLiga has confirmed the exact date and kick-off time for the first El Clásico of the 2026/27 season. Barcelona will host Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, 25 October, at 9:00 pm local time.
SUNDAY NIGHT RESERVED FOR EL CLÁSICO
The match will be the headline fixture of LaLiga matchday 10 and will close Sunday’s programme. The date had been included in the league calendar, but the kick-off time has only now been confirmed.
Real Madrid announced the decision on their official website. Curiously, Barcelona’s schedule was still listing the kick-off time as “to be announced” at the time of publication. The clock is already running in Madrid. The update in Barcelona appears to need a little longer.
BARCELONA RETURN FROM PARIS
The fixture arrives during a demanding spell for Barcelona. Five days before El Clásico, they are scheduled to face Paris Saint-Germain away from home in the Champions League.
That leaves the Catalan side with four full days to recover from the match at the Parc des Princes and prepare for Real Madrid. There will be no free week before the biggest domestic fixture on their calendar.
The game is scheduled to take place at Spotify Camp Nou, where Barcelona will attempt to stop Madrid in the first league Clásico of the season.
THE RETURN FIXTURE COMES IN MAY
The second league meeting between the clubs is scheduled for 9 May 2027. Real Madrid will host that match at the Santiago Bernabéu on matchday 35, although its exact kick-off time has not yet been announced.
The October meeting will arrive early enough in the season for the title race to remain unsettled. El Clásico rarely requires a completed league table to create pressure, however. The fixture usually develops its own atmosphere well before either team walks onto the pitch.
This time, the countdown has a confirmed finish: Sunday, 25 October, at 9:00 pm.
