Arsenal want Vinícius? Barça can already see álvarez
Barcelona have found a new transfer strategy: wait for Arsenal to solve the problem for them. According to Mundo Deportivo, citing The Athletic, the London club are considering a move for Vinícius Jr. If they pursue the Brazilian, they would likely drop out of the race for Julián Álvarez. A perfect move for Barça, especially since somebody else would be making it.
Arsenal are reportedly considering an offer worth up to £100 million. Barcelona, meanwhile, are sticking to their €100 million bid for Álvarez and have no intention of raising it or including players. Atlético remain equally calm. The Argentine is under contract until 2030, has a €500 million release clause and, officially, is not for sale.
Barça can afford to be patient after already signing Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi. Now they only need Arsenal to take Vinícius, Real Madrid to lose a star, Atlético to change their minds and Álvarez to fulfil his “dream”. A simple plan. It just requires half of Europe to cooperate.
