Barça Have Only Just Started. Bernal Is Already Overloaded
The season has not even started, but Barcelona’s medical updates are already in full flow. Marc Bernal missed the 4–1 friendly win over CE Europa because of a minor overload. The club insists it is nothing serious, so supporters are free to panic — calmly.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Hansi Flick decided there was no reason to take any risks. Bernal will travel to England for Barcelona’s training camp, which runs from July 27 to August 3. A perfectly sensible decision. At Barça, that almost feels suspicious.
The caution is understandable. Bernal only returned from a serious knee injury last season before becoming one of Flick’s most important midfielders. That makes seeing the word “overload” next to his name in July slightly less comforting.
Barcelona still scored four times without him, with four academy players finding the net. There is no crisis yet. The medical department is simply getting match-fit before everyone else.
