Bellingham reveals Real Madrid dressing-room secrets and names the smartest players
Jude Bellingham named Courtois and Rüdiger as Real Madrid’s smartest players while revealing more light-hearted dressing-room secrets.
Jude Bellingham offered a light-hearted glimpse inside the Real Madrid dressing room during a challenge recorded by DAZN at the Madring circuit. The England midfielder assigned his teammates to a series of categories, naming the funniest, smartest and most popular members of the squad.
COURTOIS AND RÜDIGER GET THE TOP MARKS
When asked to identify Real Madrid’s smartest player, Bellingham could not settle on a single name. He selected Thibaut Courtois and Antonio Rüdiger, giving two of the squad’s most experienced figures joint recognition.
Courtois was also described as the father of the team, although Bellingham noted that Madrid have a relatively young squad. Vinícius Júnior earned the title of the dressing room’s funniest player, while Dean Huijsen was named the hungriest. According to Bellingham, the Spanish defender eats enough for three people.
The midfielder chose Rodrygo as everybody’s favourite, explaining simply that the Brazilian is loved by the entire group. The answers painted a picture of a relaxed dressing room in which strong personalities are comfortable around one another.
BELLINGHAM LAUGHS AT HIMSELF
Bellingham was equally willing to become the subject of the joke. After being told that Trent Alexander-Arnold had nominated him as the teammate most likely to get annoyed, he briefly wondered whether the category was actually “biggest diva”. He eventually accepted that he was probably the right choice.
The 23-year-old also nominated himself as the player most likely to receive a pointed reaction from José Mourinho. He described himself as the squad’s most emotional member and selected “intense” as the word that best defines his personality.
The DAZN feature was designed as entertainment rather than a serious sporting interview, but it still revealed an important element of Real Madrid’s identity. Bellingham spoke openly about his teammates, laughed at his own traits and displayed the confidence of a player who feels fully at home in the group.
