Deco in Madrid. Barça “accelerates” álvarez deal again
Barcelona have taken another decisive step in their pursuit of Julián Álvarez. This time, Deco and his right-hand man João Amaral have travelled to Madrid. According to Mundo Deportivo, citing Jijantes, they are expected to meet the Argentine striker’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, in the coming hours.
The plan remains unchanged: convince the player to put even more pressure on Atlético. The Madrid club still have no intention of selling the 26-year-old, whose contract runs until 2030. Barcelona, however, believe a player’s wishes should be respected — a principle that naturally applies most strongly when the player wants to join Barcelona.
Hansi Flick sees Álvarez as his ideal striker, while Barça continue to insist that the deal is possible. At the same time, the club claim they will not submit a “crazy offer”. So far, we have a trip to Madrid, an agent meeting and yet another promise of a breakthrough. All that is missing now is Atlético’s approval, the money and the actual transfer.
