Jofre Torrents to Ajax — Barça Sell the Talent but Keep 50%

Jofre Torrents is set to leave Barcelona for Ajax. According to AS, the move will be a permanent transfer rather than the loan that had initially been considered. Ajax are expected to pay close to €6 million including variables. 

Barcelona will retain 50% of any future sale. That is a significant change from the original plan, which was to send the 19-year-old left-back out on loan, give him regular senior football and bring him back later. 

So Barça are letting the player go, but not entirely letting go of the possibility that he becomes much more valuable elsewhere. If Ajax develop him successfully, Barcelona will still be waiting for their half of the next deal.
