Real Madrid want to reward Güler’s rise with a new deal until 2031
Real Madrid are reportedly preparing an improved contract for Arda Güler until 2031, reflecting his progress and growing first-team role.
Real Madrid are preparing a new contract for Arda Güler, according to a report from „AS”. The proposed agreement would run until 2031 and include a salary increase reflecting the Turkish international’s growing status within the squad.
No extension has been officially announced or signed. However, the report claims that there is a strong understanding between the parties and that Madrid want to secure the future of a player whose role has changed considerably since his arrival.
FROM PROSPECT TO FIRST-TEAM FIGURE
Güler joined Real Madrid from Fenerbahçe in 2023 at the age of 18. His current contract runs until 30 June 2029, but the club believe his progress and increased importance now justify improved terms.
The midfielder made 51 appearances last season, recording six goals and 14 assists. He has added one goal and one assist across the opening four league matches of the current campaign. A suspension kept him out of the Champions League victory over Inter.
MOURINHO WANTS HIM CLOSER TO GOAL
José Mourinho reportedly views Güler as a player who can make the greatest difference closer to the opposition penalty area. Rather than using him as a deep midfielder, the coach wants to take advantage of his technique, creativity and ability to produce the final pass.
That represents a significant step forward for a player who initially had to wait for regular opportunities in Madrid. Güler is no longer treated simply as a promising youngster. He has earned a defined place in the first-team plans.
MADRID MOVE EARLY
An extension until 2031 would reward Güler’s development, performances and commitment while giving Real Madrid additional long-term security. It would also bring his salary into line with his current position in the squad.
The financial details of the proposed raise have not been disclosed. With no official club statement released, the new agreement should still be described as being prepared rather than completed.
